Reading the Body Receives 7th Film Festival Selection

BLR’s short film “Reading the Body” has been selected for the 2022 Poetry Film Festival and 2022 International Fine Arts Film Festival—the film’s sixth and seventh film festival selections.

A collaboration of BLR and the Paige Fraser Foundation, “Reading the Body” is an exhilarating blend of poetry and dance, inspired by the challenges and possibilities of disability. Four dancers with disability created original choreography based on BLR poetry, set to music commissioned for this special event, plus ASL interpretation. The film features the poems of Deborah Golub, Ona Gritz, George Looney, and Melissa Stein.
